3 students were missing last Wednesday. I guess you were all sick. I was a bit sick myself so to make life easier for everybody we were doing fun activities. Students did learn something though as they did quite well when they had to define things using a relative clause.

We've done it before but I remind you. We use a relative clause to give information about a thing: we use which or that

A knife is something which we use to cut meat.

About a person or profession using who.

A doctor is a person who cures sick people.

About a place using where:

A cinema is a place where we watch films.

About a time using when:

The spring is the season when flowers grow.
